the beauty and personality of your special friends
Allyson Wright
Allyson, who is known as Lancashire's Green Artist, uses her talent to express her own heartfelt philosophy on climate change and the drastic effects it is having on our wildlife.
"I love painting, all sorts of subjects animals, people and places, I have also just begun to work with caricatures which are great fun to do.
I work in a variety of mediums and with a variety of techniques, the choice for an individual work will depend on the subject. Sometimes I start working in one medium and discover it doesn’t work for the piece.
Having said that, I usually work in oils, acrylics or pastels, most recently I have been using watercolours because watercolour paint has a translucent quality similar to an oil glaze, which helps create the right rhythm between light, colour and shadow.
Anne Gray
Anne is a classically trained artist having attended art school and then later taught Art and Crafts in Secondary school in Yorkshire. She is now a much sought after portrait artist and enjoys painting pets as well as people.
"I have always lived with pet animals, both cats and dogs and I really love painting pets, getting 'under the fur', using colour and tone to show my impressions of their inner character. It is important that my portraits reflect the outward appearance and the personality of the subjects in equal measure.
I also paint endangered animals and British wildlife using mostly watercolour sometimes with the addition of Graphitint pencils.
I am hoping to capture with paint and pencil all the endangered wildlife as a reminder of their fragile beauty before its too late"
